Songdo Mural Project 2013.

In Summer 2012, I reconnected with an artist friend in Lawrence, KS. He and I had worked on two art related projects some years ago, he being mural artist Dave Loewenstein. I had an idea for doing a collaborative artwork that would involve my Grade 9 art students at the school I work at in Korea.

So we met at a local favorite cafe called the Bourgeois Pig along with his assistant and mural artist (as well) Ashley Laird to talk about creating a mural in the city of Songdo with their guidance and expertise as working mural artists.

In April 2013 they came, they painted, and they brought together a community that ended up tying together Korea, Kansas, and California. It was beautiful.

HI Vanessa cool, I've been in Prague 7 years, although I'm in Cebu, Philippines for the next two weeks helping run an EdTech conference. Not sure if you saw your email but if you can possibly repost your blog post in the forum (complete with pics) would be cool as Im going to close the blog bit (although I'll keep all other sections such as photos, videos) Its just simpler having these posts in the forum where they have more visibility and people can reply easier.

Cheers,

Dan

Thanks Dan, I see you are in Prague, I spent a summer in Zlin and a bit of time in Prague one summer. My paternal grandpa is from there.
